Cree Tradition: Fire symbolic of the heart of the people, cleansing and renewal because out of the ashes comes new growth, thoughts and ideas.
Smoke: Symbolically carried prayer to the Great Spirit.
Feathers: Symbolize his covering and protection, and for the Cree High Honor, Power, Wisdom, Trust, Strength and Freedom
Fire: Symbolic of the Word of God (Psalm 29:7, Jeremiah 23:29)
Chief: Leadership (Proverbs 6:7)
